am i the only one who finds such stuff funny?

If we want to talk about the Doppler effect in music, what about the use of the Leslie speaker and similar rotating speakers to simulate a sound source constantly changing in distance from the listener? Examples include the vocals on Black Sabbath's "Spirit Caravan" and the Beatles "Tomorrow Never Knows", guitars on Pink Floyd's "Any Colour You Like" and on numerous recordings of the Hammond organ. Is this related to what we're talking about here?

No cause the beatles were influenced by black musicians and are therefore worthless crap that should only be scorned, also pink floyd probably was too but I don't really know the official anus position on them sry.

Notice: these do not reflect my views in any way.

Also, I think the stuff about doppler effect on darkthrone is more related to the production/playing sounding so shitty it sounds like things are happening that weren't at all intended. Doing an in-depth analysis of it using huge words from your handy thesaurus is a bit stupider than writing 10 pages about how lateralus has an alternate intended track order due to the fibonacci numbers, or a 30 page essay on how "Dark Side of the Moon" fits with "The Wizard of Oz."

In a sense, though I think it's more interesting in Darkthrone's case because they simulate the effects of motion solely through manipulation of musical elements, rather than with gimmick gear.

One of the band's stated goals was to create the impression that the listener was taking part in a sort of ritual procession, and it's painfully obvious that the effect was a deliberate one, not an incidental artifact of recording.

And while applying any sort of thought to pop music simpletons like Tool or Pink Floyd is probably extravagent, applying serious analysis to a work of genius like Transilvanian Hunger is not at all out of place.

i really think you're settling for less than the best if you want to hear ritualistic music and you listen to black metal. Check out Aural Hypnox if you're interested in that. Any of the artists on the label will do. I think my favorite is Aeoga though.

Darkthrone at its best crushes any ambient artist out there - one of the 5 most important artists of the last 50 years, without question.

According to you learned musical scholars at ANUS.com, what would the exact conclusionary evidence, given in an unbiased conservatory approach deduced from oversimplified neural thought processes which gives the inquirer a simple instance approach of "being able to understand what the fuck you're talking about", is the meaning of the title of this album "Transylvanian Hunger"...imo a stupid name for an album that you are calling "genius"

Yeah, but then again, you fall somewhere between "retarded" and "clinically dead" on the IQ scale, so I think we can safely dismiss your opinion.

Haha, you are the one posting extensive literatures on a Metal forum about such nonsense as "the doppler effect on a Black Metal album" and wasting countless hours arguing about this stupid shit, etc...etc...etc...etc...etc...etc...etc...etc...etc...etc...etc...etc...

I don't have enough time to read, and inadvertantly laugh, at your foolish posts :Smug:

PEAC EOUT!!!..!!!!!
