My rec would be Gary Willis Band, Bent or No Sweat. Bent is probably the better of the two. Nice twisted funky jazz fusion. Both albums feature Dennis Chambers on drums. There's hardly anything up on youtube though.

i feel like he is still very disciplined with Brand X. it's not like he's going all billy cobham. its just different. sort of like a jazz explosion but still contained. very different from the discipline of the cinema show, but he's not exactly jamming.
