heheh, go play some football with these guys and see how hard you get hit. I don't think it's a good idea to compare football with rugby. It's not the same sport at all. Rugby is obviously grueling but I guarantee they wouldn't want to be hit by A.J. Hawk at full sprint.
Oh yeah, keep in mind duders, that football allows for head-on hits. That would be impossible without helmets. People would literally die.

soccer or to the rest of the world "football" is not in question here. It's rugby vs football partially.... and then other american international sports as a whole.

Also... why is american football called football when they don't use their feet?

1: They do.

2: It is AMERICAN football, it is the american version of the sport of football. Just like Ozzy Rules Football is the Oz's version of football.

If anyone for a second thinks 'FUTBALZZ' is a more 'tough' sport then American Football, they can fuck right off.

There is NOTHING you can do to defend the concept of padding, helmets, and time outs.

Forget "FUTBALZZ" then, and talk to me about Rugby. You're telling me that NFL players are in more danger of getting hurt than Rugby players?? Don't make me laugh.

They wear PADDING for crissakes.

Have you played american football?

I love rugby as well, but I have no illusions that American Football isn't a tough as nails game just because they wear padding.

Rugby is tough of course, but the ratio of BRUTAL hits in both games is MUCH higher in America Football, because they 'stop the play every few seconds'.

Getting side tackled does not hurt? Jesus, so what you're saying is that no injuries have ever occured in the history of the sport.

Again though, this thread has nothing to do with "soccer", it's just for you guys to talk about the wonders of American international sporting events. You should be thanking me for being such a generous mod.
No, pussy, it doesn't hurt. Yeah, there's been injuries. What's the point? I was simply saying pro footballers are the sporting world's biggest pussies.

As far as the actual topic, no thanks. Remember the "world series" of baseball a few months ago? hahahaha didnt the US finish last or something? haha

Dude, once again, I encourage you not to compare the two sports. They're not really that similar. Further, the average height and weight of a rugby player does not compare to the average size of American Footballers. Kudos to rugby players for being so hard nosed. That's great. What's it got to do with getting knocked the fuck out by a 265 lb linebacker hitting you at full sprint?

Yea "diving" is pretty ghey in my opinion as well. I did break 3 of a kids ribs once when I played select soccer years ago though. Had my arm broken pretty badly once too.

You know the average football player can bench 225 lbs 22 times? Some can bench up to 600 lbs and many can squat up to around 600 lbs. They can also run the 40 in 4.4. Combine all these into guys that are around 6'2 and weight 300 lbs? I think you need pads.
