I should also add that I tore my achilles tendon, received a concusion, and have permanent damage in my heels from years of abuse due to soccer.
 
If people didn't wear pads in modern american football, death or VERY serious injury, would be commonplace. IMO.

Who cares which sport is the most dangerous, or which sport has the toughest players, or which sport needs the most padding blah blah blah. I fail to see how that makes a game good?
 
im pretty sure the guy who started the thread initiated that. check out his earlier posts. dick sirloin didnt help by being the defensive american. but in his defense, hes just doing his job.

Because pitting man against man in a semi-combat/war-like setting is intreguing to many people, myself included, and making it the toughest it can be only makes it even moreso.

I've never been seriously hurt playing american football. And yes, I've played it. I've only been seriously hurt base jumping. Because I'm BASASS BOOYAH
