Hey guys, I'm not a guitar player (as I've already stated in some previous posts:)), but I'm doing reamping when mixing. For that purpose I already have 6505 head, but in case I decide to invest in another amp specifically for solos/leads what would you recommend? When it comes to genre I'm talking about all sorts of metal, of course  :) The price range shouldn't exceed 1500$
Thanks!

Classic guitar solo amps include:

Soldano SLO (But that's almost triple your budget)
Bogner Ecstasy (Might be a bit out, but search used)
Carvin Legacy (based somewhat on the Ecstacy)
Dumble ODS (Eeeeexpensive)
Mesa Mark series (any from this range should do)

You could take the easy route and do what I would do... Grab a used Randall RM50 or RM100 and get a couple of preamps to get modified by Salvation Mods, Sacred Groove, Jaded Faith, or some of the other modders to make you some modules that get about 97% of the way there, if not 100% with the appropriate power tubes/speakers.

Thanks!
I also thought about JSX for a while, and it's still an option... When it comes to JCMs, I guess I'll have to do a research on the difference between 800 and 900.
@Shinozoku - unfortunately, mods are out of the picture because of the location where I live - the shipping would probably cost as much as the amp itself.

BTW, thanks to the administrator for sorting me out with the title of the thread! ;)

Salvation is in the Czech Republic. Check into it ;) You might be able to get a good deal, especially since Salvation is being supplied with modules by Randall amps for specific modification purposes, so you can order a modded module straight from the modder, without having to get a stocker first and sending it in! In the event that you can get a hold of an Egnater MOD50 for cheaper, it will work too. As will an RM4, M2, etc.

On top of that, you can get killer deals on these amps used. Plus, if all else fails look for an RM22. It's KILLER for an EL84 amp and KILLS for leads!

Any good Marshall...
Mesa Boogie MkIV, and Soldano Hot Rod or SLO are the usual suspects....
