Amp information

My advise if your getting a valve amp, is don't overdo it. there's nothing worse than buying an amazing amp, then finding it's too loud to crank! My advise is to get a small valve amp, that way you can crank it, and really get the good sound!!

Having an amp up to ten fucks up the tonal properties to my ears, personally I find it's alot better to have a bigger amp with the volume knob halfway than to get a smaller amp and crank the shit out of it.

I've never tried it with a High gain valve amp, so I wouldn't know for sure, I only assumed.

I have a custom built valve amp, low gain, gets a kickass classic rock tone out of it when I get it really cranked.

Thats why they invented attenuators right? So you could turn you amp up full, but have the volume low?

Has anyone tried out the new Spider III from Line 6? I was thinking about getting the 75 Watt one, but I want to get some opinions before I buy it.

I don't like it as much as my Spider II, but it's still a GREAT amp for the money you pay.

well its nothing else than the spider II except you have the presets from the "stars"...

I advice to stay away from the Spiders. Just my opinion though. Best cheap SS amp IMO is the Peavey Bandit.
