most likely because he needs 2 different sounds. It's a one channel..no footswitch amp.
That's not totaly right. Yes, I have two, because I want to have more Sounds, but the GP-1000 has a "footswitch in" where you can switch the "pull distortion" (or clean/distortion). So with two GP's you can make 4 different sounds. So far i just use one, because its diffcult to switch between two Preamps. I have a A/B footswitch, I hope I can work it out soon...

@ bobby: why theres a divx icon in that pic? you did some training vid? hahha

gotta get some cash and buy myself a good rack, and I was wondering if getting yourself a rack and some good preamp is better than getting one good stock amp?

i like to keep it simple as fuck, but now we are getting gigs as metallica cover band, nad that means i have to be able to switch to good cleans, good dists and boost for solos and stuff..

anyone knows a good rack unit or something with nice distorsions and nice clean sounds, midi compatible?

Digitech 2101. They don't make em anymore but you can usually find em on ebay for around $300. That's what I use for all those sounds your looking for and it ROCKS! And it's midi compatible.

Here's a pic of my brother playing the Y2KV you can see the other gear in this pic as well. We don't have the line 6 cabinet anymore. 5150 cab now.
Hey Drip, are you in Colorado now??

Let me come over and plug my rack into that setup, we can record it. Im really anxious to hear it through some cabs, and all i have is my Yamaha Computer Speakers

My equipment is not in Colorado. But yeah, I am.

its all up in Frosty Montana. I just have one guitar and a behringer V-Amp 2 with me here.

School noise restrictions. IT sucks. I had a line 6 flextone amp last year..and it ended up being more hassle than it was worth. so I just left everything back home this time.
