Amps with KT88's (6550)

I just put some KT88's (6550) in this ampeg vl-502 head that i got for pretty cheap on ebay and they sound awesome. What other good guitar amps use these?

as far as I know the Engl Savage120 used KT88 as well

About any amp that takes El34's wil take 6550/KT88's with some small modificiation to the bias circuit.

but there must be enough room between the tubes.

Dude, I got an VL-502 myself lately (should arrive this week) and I also thought of changing the tubes to kt88's.
Did you have to modify anything in the amp, to get those huge fuckers in there? Other than that: It's just the bias-switch, right? Turn to 6550 - tubes in - play?

My Soldano SLO100 clone uses KT88 and it fucking kills, very tight yet huge low end. Any amp that uses EL34 can use KT88 (also that uses 6L6, but you need to check if the power transformer can handle its current requirements, and it draws 1.6A instead of 0.9A drawn by a 6L6)
