First of all, do you think all of these sound kind of cloudy (I do), and how would you improve the sound (playing?, gear used?, settings?)?

And second, which would you say sounds best?
I'm gonna reveal which ampsim is which file after a while. :headbang:

Before the ampsim on each track, I used BTE TSS, with drive at 5.35, tone at 5.75 and level at 5. Afterwards, I also used Voxengo Boogex with the great s-pres8 impulse from Ryan (CatharsisStudios). No EQ or anything, quadtracked a bit sloppily I must admit. The ampsims used were DIG 2.0, Juicy 77, 8505, 7170, Wagner Sharp MkII and SoloC.

Have fun! :kickass:

I would've so much rather have heard these in context

edit: but this is pretty much the only thing I can say about this:

I love that chart! Yeah I could do some virtual drums for them, but probably no bass though (synth bass maybe but I never like how it ends up sounding...).

they were better without the drum track :p

I liked C better, but they all sound kind of thin and a bit nasal.

Thanks, that's what I wanted to hear. I really think it's because of the guitar tracks and not the "mixing" itself.
In your opinion would it be due to cheap pickups (I have BC Rich pickups in my guitar... no comment), bad tone dialing or bad equipment (I'm using a line 6 toneport DI)? Or just my playing, which would be possible too (though I don't think I am THAT bad!)?

Since the only "real" thing in the chain in the guitar the pups are probably the ones to blame.
