yeah, sow beetles, there was one in the house just the other day, it was so sad. i had just sprayed practically the whole living room floor with ant spray(hellacious ant invasion), and then it started across the floor and died...i felt really bad

I haven't seen one of those things in a long time, I used to just see them under rocks in the garden when I was young.

don't you all in texas have giant ants of some sort? our ants are little tiny things, and not too vicious.

we have the wee little ants (piss ants), but they're fiesty down here.....we have really big ones too, but they seem more docile than the little ones

ah, I must be thinking of the huge fire ants I've seen in florida.. those are angry bugs.

or tarantulas! I remember when I lived at Ft. Hood by Killeen, we'd pour turpentine down spider holes and see the tarantulas come out. blech.
