Just ahead of NAMM Toontrack unveils EZplayer Free. It will be
released to all registering and registered Toontrack customers in the
coming weeks and is the latest in Toontrack product development.
EZplayer Fre is, to start with, a MIDI bridge, organizer and wrapper
between different drum sampler formats.

EZplayer Free is a first preview of EZplayer. EZplayer will be
unveiled and released later in spring and will boast much extended
functionality for performers as well as composers. EZplayer will be
available through all Toontrack Music distributors. Exact release
dates and pricing are as yet unavailable.

EZplayer Free

- showcases the EZ MIDI handling as used in EZdrummer.
- organizes and converts MIDI files to the mapping of all the major
acoustic drum samplers available on the market.
- ensures current and future dfh Superior users can access MIDI
content and functionality.
- gives users the capability to add their own MIDI into the EZplayer
browser.
- is compatible with the MIDI libraries shipping with EZdrummer's
EZXs expansion packs.
- supports drag and drop capabilities into all major hosts.
- gives the user the ability to import and use MIDI in EZplayer Free
from any of the drum sampler formats supported by the software.
- contains a number of free MIDI files.

Both EZplayer Free and EZplayer will be available as Mac Universal
Binary VST, AU and RTAS, as well as VST and RTAS for the PC platform.

It is always good to see a company that is developing there products further and reaches out to the user base at the same time. Hats off to ya ToonTracks....

Got that in my inbox last night. Sounds great for converting stuff created with one drum map to another (e.g. EZD to DFHS) to take advantage of a greater suite of options. There's been a lot of requests for something like this from DFHS users which replicates some of the EZD functionality.

Will be interesting to see what DFHS 2.0 is like too....
