Am I the only one who thinks this sounds like it would have fitted right in on any of the first three IVANHOE discs? Wow, same kind of vocal melodies that Andy B used to write back in the Ivanhoe days.

I was trying to place what and who it sounded like, and your right Ivanhoe.

Kewl... thanks for posting.

As far as this one song goes...

I'm most impressed by:
1.) Impressive rhythm section
2.) Great atmospheric/deft keyboard touches
3.) Seemingly excellent Sound quality/Production

Least impressed with:
1.) Lack of catchy chorus, (it's never a bad idea to have a chorus one can sing along to, good example would be a band such as THRESHOLD).
2.) Vocalist, (you either have "IT" or you don't, I'm not sure in this case)
3.) Song Writing (Hopefully some of the other songs are more memorable).

You're right, except that if I remember well, Andy Franck used to bug me a lot in his Ivanhoe days singing almost always high-pitched. I only started appreciating his vocals with Brainstorm. The Anthriel singer sounds damn fine.

You're totally right. More proggy bands should go the Threshold way and add more catchiness in the vocal lines.

The Anthriel singer, while lacking a catchy chorus in the song posted, does a very good job and has "it" as far as I'm concerned.

Mirror Games is an.. odd choice as a first release, imo. Simo sings in a lower, heavier register than on other songs and it only has one chorus (which was "loaned" from Bach..)! :D
Damn good song, though. But just wait until you hear Light Divine for a catchy chorus.

I'm just glad it's coming out finally, it's been ready for a while now..

And no, I'm not a member of the band.
