I spent $2,500, extreme in my view, but compared to some of the $10,000+ systems I've heard at shows, I'll take mine anyday - less $$, great sound. No offense because I assume your system sounds awesome, but when I went to shows over the summer, I heard various systems in the $10,000 to $20,000 range, and absolutely 100% did not hear $15,000 better sound than mine. The ears can only take so much, and my $2,500 will make you deaf.
Like I said it bangs the bass real tight but the rest of the sound needs improving. Remember the keep it simple stupid saying, this applies in car audio to if you have to much stuff you destroy signal quality, physco accoustic's etc. Which has happened in my car-looks real shit hot and cranks, but not what I was really wanting in sound. The car is a Mitsubishi 1993 Verada (Diamante) and the stereo is now 4 years old. It has a MTX RFL 15" sub with a BAGEND bass processor running 4 Fusion Jonah D class amps pushing the sub with 5000wrms at 12 volts. Diamond Audio Hex eights in the front doors, sixes and tweets in the kicks, sixes in rear fill running of three Fusion Jonah 4 channel amps. In dash I have a Pioneer in dash screen, processor and Head unit in the sun visor. Fusion 10 stack DVD in dash above glovebox and a Mstation 120 gig Hard drive mp3 in the glove box, a Fusion 10" roof mount drop screen, and a pioneer audio selector to select between sources. Plus 5 Fusion batteries and interconnects are top quality Monster Cable. But I'm selling this and buying a Mitsubishi GTO / 3000gt VR4. This is what the new gear is going into. Using some of my old stuff but mostly new-I'm only paying $7000 (Only because I work for FUSION Australia) but retail is $45000. I should get it right this time. I will be going for near impossible of loud but clear? I don't think its stupid as I own my own home, have 3 kids, one is leaving home just turned 17, I have a second family car what else do I spend my money on? I don't get into home stereo-I don't know why and I'm in my car 4 hours plus a day. End of point for me.
But getting back to it yes I am nearly deaf lol
