HOLY FUCKING SATAN!!!!!! Emperor is reuniting for Wacken Open Air and Inferno Fest next year. I may have to miss ProgPower to go to Germany, I guess it all depends if these are going to be their only performances, because they are doing a US tour then I would see them where here.
I am still trembling...<passes out>

Ian

Only if it's the really "commercial" and melodic stuff like Dimmu or even Dissection. I guess I do like some Burzum stuff too. Yeah, why not?

wow!!...reuniting?? where did you hear about that?? US tour????? where did you hear about it?? passing out

hehe....damn, Emperor is the best Black Metal band

I am like Woosta, I love the melodic Black Metal stuff. Big fan of Dimmu Borgir, Cradle of Filth (Dusk and Cruelty era), Old Man's Child, and ofcourse the almight fucking Dissection!!! Actually I have been looking for some others, any suggestions. I will give Emprer another chance, especially since I might go to Wacken next year.

Wow thats great Emperor are uniting for Wacken cuz i'm gonna be there next year for wacken!

About black metal..........

I nowadays listen to more BM from the U.S. bands like Judas Iscariot, Kult ov Azazel, Ibex Throne, Krieg, typhus, fog, black witchery, Xasthur, revenge, Noctuary, Demoncy, Inquisition, Thy Infernal , ect... I don't think there has ever been a BM band from the U.S. thats ever gotten really big.

Also listen to a bunch of NON commercial underground BM (the kind of bands you won't see as popular as Cradle or Dimmu) Bands like Falkenbach, Dark Fortress, Weltmacht, Vordven, Wigrid, Kvist, Craft, Impaled Nazarene, Blasphemy, beherit, Diaboli, Algaion, Woodtemple, Nytalgia, Nokturnal Mortem, Nargaroth, ect.....ect......

Of course I still listen to bands from the older Norwegian BM scene like Emperor, Satyricon, Gorgorth, Aura Noir, Burzum, Dark Throne, Mayhem., Enslaved, Immortal, ect...ect......

Nowadays though the Norwegian BM scene has become nothing but mostly a memory. Don't get me wrong there are still some bands there putting out good music but overall Norse BM isn't quite what it use to be.

go directly for the IX Equilibrium and Promentheus. Man!!! those are technical. I'm more a death metal or Prog fan, but bands like emperor make me like Black Metal too

Try Graveworm and, if you can find their stuff online, Yeti. They're from Florida, and they are still -- incredibly -- unsigned.

sellouts! ;)

Black metal fan here... well, I'm a fan of all genres of metal, at any rate... my favorite black metal stuff is Bathory - Under the Sign of the Black Mark, Emperor - Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk, Satyricon - Nemesis Divina, Ulver - Nattens Madrigal, and Keep of Kalessin - Through Times of War. I also love black-influenced death metal (such as Cradle of Filth, et al), and black-influenced prog/power metal (such as Graveworm, old Dismal Euphony, and Ram-Zet).

CURSE YOU ALL MEN!! EMPEROR HAS RETURNED!!! Wow this is unexpected, especially finding out about this when showing my friend the WACKEN website. US Tour? One could only dream; but I wonder if it would suite them well, unfortunately it seems alot of big European bands have failing US tours. As long as I am able to finally see them, that's all that truly matters. I AM THE BLACK WIZARDS! :)

The Emperor reunion is huge. I hope they can be one of the headliners for the BWBK 6 Pack Weekend 4. That would be huge.

Yeah I am a black metal fan too. Im sure the stuff I listen to like Dimmu and Cradle of Filth isn't considered true black metal but whatever. I also like Satyricon alot and the older stuff like Venom, Bathory, Mercyful Fate, early Sodom, Celtic Frost, Hellhammer, Mayhem, etc.

Anybody listen to any NON-Norwegian/swedish BM????

Bands like Blasphemy, Beherit, Inquisition, Krieg, Thy Infernal, Kult ov Azazel, Xasthur, Falkenbach, Vordven, Abyssic Hate, Wigrid, Diaboli, Algaion, Black Witchery, Revenge, Fog, Typhus, Dark Fortress, Judas Iscariot, Weltmacht, Averse Sefira, Noctuary, Nytalgia, Hate forest, Drudkh, Suicidal Winds, Veles, Urgehal, Woodtemple, Nargaroth, Ibex Throne, Forgotten Tomb, Leviathan , Veltvet Cacoon, Primegenium, ect.. ????

It seems most people only think Black metal exists only in Norway or Sweden and don;t bother looking into other countries for Good BM.

I haven't heard any GOOD black metal from outside of Norway/Sweden... but then again, the only band I've heard is Judas Iscariot (US) and they suck. Summon doesn't count either, because they're more death than black (although they use elements of both).
