Any fans of Black Metal?

I'd also like to add that I take the black metal bands with pagan lyrics more seriously than the "Rape the Angels...GRRR!" bands.

i saw dimmu borgir, once with nevermore, children of bodom and hipocrisy...that was an incredible show (and on top of that, that was a tour here in the States). if only emperor could do the same...I hope it'll happen though.

Anyway This might be a perfect time to promote a Dutch band, quite famous in europe. it's called "Slechtvalk".... (yes, since I'm dutch)...Since many people on this thread are talking about some underground Black Metal bands. anyway anyone interested, go to www.slechtvalk.com. The Bass Player is from my Island (Dutch island, Curacao)

yep, i like kekal, but never liked christian black metal, but the music is really good so, actually for me, here, that's all that matters. Slechtvalk also has there messages, but again i love the music :-)

(snip)Reason I say that is because there are too many people who make excuses in the BM scene about not liking this band or certain scene or style or country's BM because probably one of more of the reasons below apply to ( insert here the BM band you dislike)

(snip)- This band is a NSBM <= Nazis
(snip)
I believe these are the reasons why there is barely any Unity within the BM scene.

This was the only valid reason on the list not to listen to some of these bands.

I guess I can see that as a valid reason why not to like a certain Black metal band. I am NO nazi nor could I be because i am of a hispanic/latin background. I just happen to enjoy the music that certain NSBM bands make. I don't care for their lyrics or thier political views. I cannot help musically what i like.

Agreed. I was very disappointed to hear things of this nature about Drudkh, but the sound of Autumn Aurora still kicks ass.

Yes it does suck that Drudkh and Hate Forest ( side projects of Drudkh ) are NSBM bands but their music is just soo awesome I cannot resist. Same goes for Burzum, (older) Graveland, Veles, and a couple of others.

If you think about it the thing that kinda sparked NSBM goes back to when Bathory released the Hammerheart album. On the original pressing of that album they had red-black style sun-wheels (aka swastika's) not to also mention this was the era bathory was basing their lyrics around Norse/viking mythology. Sun wheels also where never a racist symbol until the 1940's when the Nazi's change their meaning. Sun wheels were the symbol on thor's hammer. Because of Hitler;s views of the aryan race ( that happen to be similair to viking/norse mythlogy) now their are soo called ayran groups who adapt symbols such as Odins runes, sun wheel, ect.... anyways i stop going off topic here.

National socialism in BM is just plain pointless and dumb!
