Any lightweight metal axe you know of?

Hey there

Been wondering about getting me a new guitar that's comfortable in shape and light in weight (already have 4, but they're all on the heavy side). App the only ones to fit this description (for metal) are Epis and/or Gibson SGs. I have played those guitars and in fact they're very light, but that makes the headstock tilt a bit out of balance and from what I gather the lowered quality of those guitars nowadays (necks break supposedly because of the pronounced headstock angle) does not justify a purchase.

Any other suggestions?

how about one of them Ibanezezez?
the ones with basswood are pretty light weight. Still well balanced though.

Yes I have had a Washburn in basswood - very light in comparison to what I have now

If you want a lightweight les paul type of guitar, a thin ESP eclipse might be the deal for you! I would go with Ibanezezez, but as you probably already have noticed I'm in a Ib-phase atm.

Indeed. My main gtr nowadays is a BC Rich, but the damn thing pokes my thighs as if it was an eagle - I already have permanent bruises.

I really like the tone that the nato (wood) delivers, though.

Hmmm since there are like 10000 different RG-models that might be hard. As long as you don't go for the budget guitars you're probably going to be fine. I only have prestiges(+ my MTM2). The RGA series is a phased off version of the RG. It's thinner and a bit lighter. Maybe you could check those out.

The Ibane S-Series is pretty light, too, not digging them that much personally, but they're
pretty light, thin and small.

I would definately recommend an ESP Eclipse. Very thin and pretty light. LTD is also very nice, as they have the same body I guess.

The lower model Ltds (50, 100, a couple of the 250s too I think) are basswood too, they're really light.

Ya the Parker Fly is probably the LIGHTEST guitar around that just sounds AMAZING. If Adam D can make em sound great with Killswitch they are totally metal worthy!
