Been wondering about Countess myself. I've read good-to-great things. Same goes for Demoncy (they're considered a bit of an underground US legend I believe). I know for a FACT that I would not like Ildjarn. And those Gorgoroth albums are just a shade below mandatory as far as I'm concerned. Pentagram fucking rules it.

Countess - Heilig Vuur - No
Demoncy - Faustian Dawn/Within the Sylvan Realms of Frost - No
Demoncy - Joined in Darkness - No
Gorgoroth - Antichrist - Yes
Gorgoroth - Pentagram - Maybe
Ildjarn - Ildjarn is Dead - No
Ildjarn - Nocturnal Visions - No
Ildjarn - Son of the Northstar - No
Ildjarn - Forest Poetry - Yes
Ildjarn - Strength and Anger - Yes
Sort Vokter - Folkloric Necro Metal - Yes

Actually I haven't heard that Countess album, but I didn't really like anything else I heard from them, but I'm probably wrong. :)

I might check that album out when I get home.

If you haven't heard Ildjarn before, check the samples from homepage, the music is very raw and simple.

I personally like some tracks, some not. My personal Ildjarn-faves are the ambient-albums.

EDIT - Gorgoroth is fucking great on those albums, 100% perfection!

If you're going to get Ildjarn I recommend along with Forest Poetry, Det Frysende Nordariket, it's a pretty cool compilation of a lot of his demo tracks.

This is one of Terrorizer's most important black metal albums of the late 90's wave . . . I think. Well . . . anyway, it was one of the most important albums of that particular wave of BM.
