i suck at reviews so i'll just give u the best bits by points

* Tony Hawk making a surprise cameo appearance to introduce Wolfmother
* Toni Collette coming onstage to introduce Prince William and Prince Harry via video feed
* Liam Finn playing which was a diversion as halfway through the set the rest of the "Finn's" came out to reform Crowded House
* Split ENZ
* video feed later in the night of a replay from the SCG of Coldplay doing Your The Voice with John Farnham, all the 80,000 people at the MCG roared and sang along and went crazy when this came on.
* Midnight Oil (how crowd was wondering how Peter Garret would act on stage being a politician, he acted as himself so the crowd roared :p)

here's some vid's of Midnight Oil from the night that i've found so far :)
frist video crowd went crazy cause he talked about it pissing down with rain :p

Hunters and Collectors were easily the best band of the night. They just have a fantastic live sound. Most of the bands were great though, with the only shit ones being Bliss n Eso and that Gabriella whatever (although her cover of Whole Lotta Love was surprisingly decent).

As for the royals sending a message, what a disappointment. Such a big deal was made over this "special announcement" and whatnot; some royal family member saying the same generic "hope everything goes well" message that everybody else has already said was just an anticlimax.

I was mainly there for Hunters & Collectors and Midnight Oil, and they didn't disappoint. I got all teary at times during the Hunnas' set - I was at their last two gigs in 1998, so it'd been a while between drinks. I'm a big fan. The Oils were fucking great as well. Fuckin' loved it!

Seeing Crowded House was a big bonus. I enjoyed that. It worked well having Liam's weirdo stuff first.

What the fuck was that Bliss n Eso shit though? The crowd lapped it up, but I'd never heard of them and never want to again. It made me feel old.

yeah Liam's set had everything going "err wtf?" with how he had hid guitar playing a loop while he jumped on the drums lol was really entertaining
