Any places to visit in Atlanta

Thank you so very much! I have lots of browsing to do when I go home. This trip is looking better and better. :D

Turkish/Greek is very close to Bulgarian in many respects and you already listed a Turkish place - good enough for me. :)

Me and my friends went to the Coke musuem last year but I'm a Pepsi girl so it was ok. Good way to kill some time and check out all the Coke memorabillia.

Were looking for new places to go this year where is the Vortex at?

Thanks also everyone for the lists of places to eat. I do remember having a hard time finding a place to eat on Saturday night and Sunday. Everything was closed. :(

There are two...one on Peachtree Street downtown and one in Little Five Points... I like the one in L5P...i like the staff and location.. :)

Let me add Persepolis on Roswell Road (Persian) to the good restaurant list. Unfortunately, it's more like in Sandy Springs, so a good bit from midtown.

Shaye

Funny, after I made that post I thought that I forgot to mention Persepolis, but it is so out of the way that I figured that it didn't matter. I have been meaning to go back and try their lunch buffet.. the sour cherry rice is so good... mmm, now I'm hungry, crap.

Yep, that's for the Little Five Points location for the Vortex (with the giant skull entrance).
They're also notable for having decent, clean bathrooms, which in L5P is a rare commodity...especially handy when you're living on rooftops and reciting poetry in the streets for spare change. :D

That is not a short walk from the Iman station to the Vortex. It is over 3/4 of a mile. That and you have to transfer at the 5 points station to the east line.

Why don't you guys just walk to the Vortex in midtown and save the Marta fare? Sure it doen't have a Skull Entrance, but the food is the same. You could place your order before you'd even be half way to 5 points station.

Doesn't the 120 go from Avondale Station directly TO Stone Mountain? As in, the route is NAMED Stone Mountain?

Apparently it does, but it drops you .5 miles from the west gate of the park; plus you'd probably spend hours riding and waiting for buses...
I just think that if your time and energy are of value to you, renting a car in Atlanta is worth it.

It was tolerable with Metal, Urban, Linda, Denney and Kim...

See, now that would have been surrealistic enough to be fun!

In response to the original question, the Center for Puppetry Arts is interesting if you like oddball museums.

So does 118 apparently.

Thanks for the heads-up! Schedule does not look too bad on Sunday - once every half hour for the 120 and about once an hour for the 118. Except with that MARTA delay it may get a little tricky. Maybe the people who suggested a car are right, after all.

People in this topic have been extremely helpful. I appreciate all the suggestions and tips! :)
