anyone heard the new Parkway drive?

Even setting aside the fact I don't like their music at all and just solely listening to the mix, it sucks.
The mix doesn't fit the band's style, nor is it even a good mix from purely technical point of view, so it's the worst of both worlds really.

I honestly don't mind the mix, everything sounds really good in its own right I just don't understand the leveling of everything, guitars need to come up, vocals need to go down, and the kick sounds really cool its just way to loud. Interesting though. You get used to the mix and musically its a lot more interesting than their previous efforts.

Mix sucks. Music sucks. Band sucks.

Thank fuck I wasn't the one that had to "go there"
This just about sums it up.

*goes back to listening to Gojira's The Way of All Flesh which has infinitely better music and production*

I see it as a left/right side of the brain thing.

Parkway might be pretty boring musically, but winston can get the message across, and some build-ups and breakdows sure can get the blood flowing.

Meshuggah is a musical mind-puzzle but there's a mechanical/schizoid aura that leaves me preety disconnected.

Well.. let's say I personally aim for an equilibrium

Hm, I don't understand how a lot of people think theyre boring musically.
I must say some melodies (especially on the old records), for example "Blackout" and the "Guns for Show, Knives for a Pro" breakdown and "Deadweight" have been some of the most intense shit ive heared in years, you can't even compare that to Mesuggah, I fall asleep like 1:30 into one of their songs.
I used to really hate these core bands, but right now these guys are kinda doing it for me. I also like how they tend to settle more with melodies than ur usual "BOOM BOOM GRRR GRRR" dissonant deathcore band.
But I guess thats just my opinion.

The Albums production is definately not as good as the Adam D. ones, they kinda don't seem to push that hard, the tracking seems a bit off in some parts.
The kickdrum is really annyoing at first but now I can kinda live with it.
Really wierd that such an experienced producer fucks up so hard.

i've listened to all the really good bands already core music is something new i love breakdown so much

This mix actually sounds fucking good in the car. Kicks definitely have some weird shit going on, and it's not as well balanced as it maybe should've been but I'm digging it a bit now. Somebody try and tell me the snare doesn't fucking rule?!
