Anyone recognise these samples? Mainly kick and snare, I don't like the toms at all.

It might be obvious to you guys but ive never used anything else other than slate sooo.

also, I wanna know how i'd go about making my kicks and snares as much of a slap in the face as these. Its probably something to do with compression but I have no idea.

step 1. figure out where they recorded. that will tell you a LOT about what the samples COULD be. i believe it was Will Putney, so my guess is actual samples of the drums, maybe blended with some other samples that he's already taken and uses often to blend.
 
Each to their own i guess. I personally love the production on that album.

I searched for a studio vid on youtube and found that it was Will at Machine Shop.

Ahh wel, back to slate I go. :kickass:
 
Will did the new LMTF record. He's been talking about it and how stoked he is on it. I guess it's #5 on the metal charts ATM also. But will is behind this
