Our drummer uses a D4 with his bass drum triggers. Just wondering if you guys do much in the way of compression or extra eq on the triggered bass drum sounds from alesis modules.
Anyone use alesis drum module with triggers....

Do whatever makes it sound good in the mix. I've used them and added a good amount of comp/eq/reverb

Depending on the tempo you may want more/less compression. On a fast double-kick section where there's a lot of stuff going on you're not going to want the kick to drown out the other instruments etc.
Even when you're not mixing with samples you'll probably compress your kick, which then gets compressed again if you're doing a drum submix, which then will probably get compressed again at mastering time.rhythmicpunisher said:
