Is anyone using an iPhone forum app for Sneaping? There's quite a few forum apps for iPhone but the ones I've found that should work aren't free. I thought I'd see if someone knows a good one before I pay for one.

As far as I know one doesn't exist, at least not specifically for our little community - we were talking about it in another thread, but yeah, I'd gladly contribute $10 to the development of one!

A forum app exclusively for the ultimate metal / andy sneap forums would be nice!
Of course it's fast with safari, the good thing about a forum app is you won't have to load the whole pages with backgrounds etc, but only the text. If you click "next" it will load the full site again, a forum app would use a lot less traffic. And for those of us, who are limited to GPRS speed if they go beyond 300MBs.. would be great.
Gearslutz has a nice forum app in the appstore.

I actually tried getting in touch with the developer of the gs app but havent heard back from him yet. Hopefully i can get this stuff rolling sooner than later I would love to be able to waste time on the go.

Well, I started building one but thought I'd see what sneapsters were doing.

There is no point continuing it if:
- no one is going to use it
- everyone is already using an alternate solution
- someone else is building one

Some options are:
- There are quite a few forum apps for iPhone that already exist. We could test them to see which ones work well. Some of these require server side plug-ins so they would have to be installed. The down side to this is there would be little or no customization of features and corporate branding
- We could approach a developer to build it. Some of these guys are brilliant and work cheaply. The benefit of this is a dedicated support channel from a team that does this full-time
- I could continue building it

The Gearslutz app it Tapatalk. We could activate this for free but then users have to pay US$2.99 for the Tapatalk app. If you want corporate branding like the Gearslutz app you have to pay them.

That was my point for making the poll a few weeks back...to find out who uses what so when I do start making the app i knew which way to go with it.

I would use it. I already use the browser to do so, some time to time, but as any other website is really faster to load and use with a mobiel version, I clearly see the benefits of it.

Also, you have to find support not only here but in the whole ultimatemetal forum. You will surely have enough people interested to make the investment worth it.

I would definetly use one! I've been using opera aswell since the zoom works perfect for forums. But still a dedicated forum app would be sweet!

Same here, Opera is better than safari IMO, but it still is annoying because of loading times and having to move sideways all the time to read, I would totally be in for a forum app for the sneap forum. I would definitely pay for it if it´s only like 2 bucks
