Does anyone know what type of effect or effects used to get that cool sound in The Apostle in Triumph at the 7:24 mark?

ok im about 80% sure what they did to get this effect.....if you take the volume knob on a guitar and turn it back and forth (on and off) while doing hammer-on's, u get this exact effect.
Eddie Van Halen also does this same thing in a van halen song called "Cathedral".

Try it out if your a guitarist, its loads of fun. (turn the volume knob off and then every time u hammer a note, turn the knob on, then back off quickly.)
sry im horrible at explaining it.

^ cool reply, I understand your description, done it
a few times myself b4 I had to sell my piano black
69 SG Custom.

Apostle in Triumph is Opeth at their awesomeness, imo.

Great Avatar, is there a bigger version out there?

yea the first time I heard that part of the song I was wondering the same thing, it really reminds me of peter and the wolf, idk why.

indeed, it is an excellant song, i love how when the rythm guitar comes in the beginning it makes u feel like dancing around a fire at night in the woods XD or maybe thats just me :D

and thnx d cat, yeah i love my avatar.....wonder if the brutal/grim looking house has any ties to GR or if it just there for affect :O
