Saudi Arabia is supposed to be an ally, as well, but 19 of the 9/11 hijackers came from there.
what the government is failing to address... due mainly to the spectre of political correctness... is that the war on terror isnt a war on this nation or that, but more a war on an ideology.
any nation that supports a faith that preaches peace 'under the shadow of the sword' and that the whole world should conform to a certain belief, by force if necessary, rather than allow freedom of expression, religion, etc... is not a nation to be trusted.

Bush believes if a country is following the laws and doing what they are supposed to that you have to reward that or else the question becomes why are we doing this?
Unfortunately, in this clusterfuck of a world we live in, the answer isn't "because it's the right thing to do" anymore.

Jurched is correct on this one. Basically what this means is the new stickers on the cranes will have the new logos on them, as I heard on a radio show. It's not ownership, but simple management. The DHS, who is mostly worthless anyhow will be managing the security (or non-security) of these ports and perhaps more closely, but the fact of the matter is that this company manages ports all over the eastern seaboard.
Now the other front on this is whether it's right or not due to the events of 9/11. I don't know. The first problem is these particular ports are still not secure. Remember in the fallout of 9/11 there was lots of talk about how these ports need to be secure? Still haven't done dick about it. Ok, they might have some radiation meters around, but most containers are not checked.
So it's a political thing for the opposed to go against it, sure. The families of 9/11 victims are outraged. Bush presented himself as an absolute wartime president, so this appears to be slipping through, giving him an image of fleecing and selling off America, which he has done.
As far as impeachment goes, that's not going to happen because Americans are pussies. So long as we have money coming in, we don't care. If this was the 60's or the 70's, hell yeah, Bush would have been out. Those were two decades known for having pussies in our country, yet those people were so politically active that they effected change. Not anymore. Now we just like to complain and rallies are greeted with arrests and terrorism registration under the Patriot acts.
