Just wanted to know how you guys are feeling about this album. I have to say I absolutely love it. How natural, open and big everything sounds. Not very familiar with the guys that worked on this album but they did an awesome job. The low end and subs on this album are huge and powerful sounding without drowning everything else. Everything has such an awesome ambiance-y kind of sound too it. Especially the drums and vocals, you can really hear the drums room and the room and reverb in the vocals without it sounding drowned out by the reverb (it might just be all room sound and not artificial reverbs but im no expert and cant really tell). My favorite album of 2014 so far. Been listening to it daily for the last couple of months.

What do you guys think of this album ?

P.s. My apologies if someone else had already made a post similar to this. I dont fully understand how to use the search function on this forum so feel free to delete this post if something similar has already been posted.

Yeah the search doesn't really work. Just google sneap search and you'll get the google version of the search function here.

Anyways, yes the production is top notch. This was studio fredman right? Those guys never disappoint. I think Henrik Udd even posts here sometimes.

There was a thread about this on the off-topic board.

Most people love it, including myself. Definitely wouldn't call it 'natural', but for a super processed, modern era production sound it's absolutely top notch. I also love how Henrik resisted the urge to over-master it, and kept the sub-lows intact.

Maybe I wasn't clear enough in what I meant. I meant that the drums sound like real drums. A lot of recordings now a days are processing drums so much that they stop sounding like drums. Like the guys from Chango studios, their drums are just not good. But yeah they sound super powerful and in your face. I love it.

By the way can you point me to that off topic thread about this album.

Wall of guitar sound! i wonder is it double or quadtracked?!

The guitars were quadtracked, and totally correct it was done at Studio Fredman here in Sweden, haha!

I adore the guitar sounds. Actually I think the drums are a BIT to thin for my taste. I've noticed this with multiple Fredman recordings, that the guitars are absolutely huge, whilst the drums don't seem to have that much punch to them at all. But thbat's just me, haha! Overall it sounds fantastic!

Musically, it doesn't beat Daybreaker for me though. Not even close!
