are your siblings into metal as well?

Baby brother likes to think hes Rastafarian, but likes some Slayer, Iced Earth and Pantera, and once I heard him trying to sing Sonata Arctica...

Big brother doesn't really do a whole lot of anything, and big sister is a hippie.

My 5 year old nephew LOVES Opeth and Manowar... I'm so proud :)

My 23 year old sis likes rap...:puke:
My 19 year old sis likes rap...:puke:
My 17 year old bro likes screamo and rap rock...:puke:
My 14 year old sis likes hardcore/grunge/crap...:puke:
My mom likes country and Stevie Nicks...:puke:
My dad is into Nevermore and mostly traditional metal...:headbang:

I'm the only one in my family that delves into death/black/folk etc metal...:kickass: :headbang:

Well I have three older bro's. One blood and two Step. I am the youngest, so my bro's had very big influence on me.

Oldest - Frank, 9 years older than me and prolly the most open minded for most newer type metal. He is a huge Zep fan and likes older Metallica.

Jim - Bro #2 - total classic rock fan, he loved Zep, Floyd and such. Got me turned on to other rock bands like Bad Co, Allman, etc.

Dan - Bro #3 - My blacksheep bro. This boy is fucked up, has been in jail so many times I think he must like it. However, the closest thing to a real metal fan other than me. He turned me onto Sabbath, when they were touring (damn I am old). I remember distinct memories of my bro Dan cranking up Sabbath when the folks were away to dinner. The look in his eyes, wow, scared me, but excited me more. I was a metal head from day one after hearing Sabbath's first album.

So, all that said, I subjected my Mom to more metal than any one her age should have to hear. By god, some of it, she likes.... Mainly Rush. :)

The one thing that I love, is that everyone in my family said that I (we including me bro's) would grow out of this rock and roll thing. Thank goat, none of us has or will. Long live Metal \m/

My older sister turned me on to Sabbath back in the day but she's about as metal as Donna Summer is these days.
My twin brother (who used to be my bass player is stuck in the 80's) and my wife thinks Kelly Clarkson rocks.
the one saving grace in my house , is that my 4 1/2 year old daughter
sings along to the chorus of Narcosynthesis and bangs her head in
her car seat. she thinks Angela Gossow sounds funny :Smug:
she sings along to Lacuna Coil (my daughter's name is Kristina too)
I can't believe how quick little kids pick up lyrics. She actually sings on key too so
I'm definitely going to encourage the music thing so
I bought her a guitar and a keyboard for X-mas. (what a good daddy I am :headbang: )

Buy her a mic as well man.... Have her make Angela sound weak... Muhahaha. :headbang: :headbang:

No one in my family likes metal, except for my mother who is nearly seventy. She's not too keen on death and black metal (except for Emperor because of the classical elements). But, it's because of her I'm so into rockabilly, jazz, and the like. I think my dad liked Black Sabbath, but he was just big into weird stoner music of the sixties and seventies, and Sabbath was as heavy as it got for him.

Closest my Dad got to metal was AC/DC and Pink Floyd. My mom liked Porcupine Tree when I played them for her, and (coolest of all) my grandfather likes Black Sabbath.

EDIT: Porcupine Tree is of course not metal, but still its not everyday you see your mom listening to them.

I took it down again.
fucking perverts ruin everything
well it's down in my post anyway?????
WTF? how is it staying in the response?

My sister is Emo. So the closest thing she gets to "heavy" is My Chemical Romance.

*shudders*
