Arsis - A Celebration of Guilt

Yeah i love it as well. I cant believe its a two man band. Those two fuckers filled that album up with a hell of alot of harmony, and hooks, without making it sound any softer. They kinda remind me more of later carcass, because of some of those leads and hooks. Willowtip is producing some serious shit lately, whoever is signing thos bands has a good fucking ear.

Crowpath is MUCH more than "good solid grind". That's like saying Isis is some good solid death metal. Crowpath goes WAY beyond grind . . . but that's my opinion.

Anyway . . . I'm glad you people pick up on what I say about 6 months after I say it.:)

Capharnaum and Arsis fans will be from the same boat, most likely. Arsis, as I said in my review, has a little bit of later day Immortal in them as well.

just picked it up from willowtip ...

ARSIS i think is the only TRADITIONAL style DM band that Willowtip has ... the rest of the bands on their roster seem to have that annoying hardcore yelling (which is a little damn close to nu-metal yelling for my tastes), even Capharnaum gets ruined by this.

I noticed that too. I picked up the Rune CD last year after hearing all the praise but I didn't like it all that much at all. Arsis are the only band that seem to have lived up to their hype from the Willowtip label. I guess the rest of the stuff just isn't my style.

I ordered Arsis from The End a few days ago. I can't wait til it gets here. It's one of my favourites of this year so far.

how so? it sounds like heavy-as-hell technical death-grind to me.
I didn't mean that you couldn't classify them as grind. I was just trying to press the point that Crowpath is MUCH more than "just grind". They do to grind what Meshuggah does to death metal, as far as I'm concerned. They totally transform it into an artform.

seriously ... it never ceases to amaze me how much crap record companies sign. with great unsigned bands strugling a band like Sadis Euphoria should not be on a label ... any label.

I mean I own a business myself and do things sometimes for tax writeoff purposes, you know, to offset my profits with some expenses ;) .., and these shitty bands seem like they serve the same purpose to these labels.
