Asgeir - recording question

Asgeir,

On the 'Making of Epic' video, we can see that during the recording session you're not using an actual bass drum, but an digital-form instead. Do you mind explaining why you chose to record this way instead of a real bass-drum gear?

Obviously I'm not Asgeir, but I got a couple of ideas for the reason.

I play drums too (not like a demon as Asgeir) but that can be for:

1) sound management: to get all control about the shape, depth, sound type and another stuff using digital hardware in bass drum.

2) Comfort: playing getting 2 bass drums, 1 bass drum with double pedals or only using double pedals... is so much more comfortable playing without bass drums, only with the pedals (at least for me),and we can use less space to put in the drum (the studio seems a little small for me...), you can configure the drum easier with less things surround you and put in more lecterns around you (Asgeir uses A LOT of cymbals).

You must move on less things (the drums are very delicate and expensive... the risk to break or damaging the drum is a little high and if I don't must to move my drum, better for me)

there are another reasons, but these are the most important to me.
