The NATO Summit is happening downtown Chicago. Expect the airports to have ramped up security as well so plan ahead. If you do plan to go downtown in the mornings / afternoons plan accordingly. I-55 is going to be closed around Lake Shore Drive and most of the Loop / Downtown area is going to have lots of closed off streets and street parking is going to be very limited. They are going to have armed guards throughout the city as well.

If you do plan on going to the city I highly recommend from Joliet take I-55 to 355 to The Kennedy. it is a bit longer of a drive but it will let you pass all the mess and come from the city on the other end.

Violence expected to spill into the suburbs!!!

Wonderful.......

Police already have reliable tips (Primarily from ignorant teenage anarchist websites) that violent protestors will turn to the suburbs as the already know all suburbs will be understaffed due to giving up part of their force to support the Chicago Police force downtown.

Should have made "I SURVIVED THE RIOT @ RAGNAROKKR" shirts!

I have the day off tomorrow and Sat, so I'm definitely planning on getting there extra, extra early just to be safe...plus, last time I had a hell of a time finding parking or just finding the place.

How can you have trouble finding parking?
The building is literally surrounded by two huge parking garages............

Maybe you got lost.
Lots of one way streets.

I did get lost. GPS lead me to a completely different spot. Also, was a little freaked of getting towed and the garage I found I think was the casino one. Hopefully I have an easier time this time.

I parked in the Casino lot for Iced Earth. I had no problems.
There will be no one there to collect money by the time you would leave.
Most people park in the lot right on Cass St which is a block or two east of the Casino.
