Leaving late tonight for NYC for a early morning arrival. Any suggestions on events/shows/whatever else this weekend?

how long are you going to be in NYC? i'm going down Saturday morning and leaving Sunday morning; i don't know what i'm up to because i'm staging an intervention for a suicidal friend and i don't know if she'll even let me into her apartment. so i either have all-encompassing plans, or no plans. hopefully all-encompassing plans.

i'm kind of pissed about having to go--we just decided yesterday, and it's kind of an emergency, and i'm missing the They Might Be Giants show on Saturday night here in Boston i've been planning for! and it's going to be no fun at all. i think there is roughly a 50% chance we are going to try to get our friend checked into an institution (she said she would go, but someone had to come with her to get checked in).

another downside is that Lisa won't want to do another NY trip for months now. but an upside is that i can go down to NYC alone and she won't get pissed i went without her, i guess.

well it raises money for where i work. it's supposed to be on saturday (it may rain) it's on west 24th between 6th and 7th avenue.
