a hotel is the worst thing you can do to yourself.
A) Wacken is in the country, meaning you'll have to cab to Hamburg EVERY night and it'll cost you a lot.
B) Camping is where the fun is!!! You can not say you've been to Wacken
unless you camped in the fest, PERIOD.
You party with your neighbors all night, you become their best friends,
you sing along all night and drink beer, you walk from camp to camp and meet people, you get up barely after 5 hours of sleep to another fun day,
---this time with everyone you met the night before at the camp
playing beer games with, and sing viking songs into the night with...

When i went to wacken 05, i stayed at a hotel about 20 minutes away. and there is a hotel in town, it was full when I was booking though (i booked pretty late).

Or, you could buy a regular ticket, come over to the hotel we'll be staying at and meet them all for free. Also, maybe venues on the east coast are a lot cooler, but most venues I've been to don't allow re-entry once you go out. Seems a normal thing to me, even if it is pointless.

you can either buy a 3-day pass when it comes out, individual passes, or whatever... just like normal fests.

I just hate no "re-entry"... that's BS.
Normally clubs do it for under age kids so they will not get hammered
in the parking lot and walk in the venue again, and I somewhat understand that, but the website says IF you pay the $$$ then you can all of a sudden go in and out?
