Is there such a thing? I'm a huge fan of midi and I know how to convert audio to midi in reaper but there tends to be latency which is annoying. I was hoping to find a piece of hardware or a rack unit that could autotune and then convert the audio signal into midi. To be specific it would enable me to turn my guitar signal into a midi instrument.

Yeah I saw that a few years back but that's more of a synth, and you have to glue another pick up on to your guitar. And I'm pretty sure you can't use it with prefered VST instruments. Not really what I'm looking for

you can use the graphtec ghost system with the hexaphonic preamp. the piezos are in the saddles so no shitty looking addition on the guitar. I use the ghost system to get a piezo acoustic sound on my guitar. The product is awesome, and then you have to get a roland box, gi10 or gi20 (guitar to midi converter) there is an usb out so you can use it with the vsti of your choice!! I just need some cash and I'll add the hexaphonic preamp on my setup.

Oh snap I didn't even notice that post. I have to read through it all but that looks like it's pretty close to what I'm looking for. Thanks Joban!

I wanted the you rock guitar, until I saw that this thing is not velocity sensitive!! deal breaker :(

Check this video about the ghost system! god I want this thing!
In this video the guy use axon guitar to midi converter maybe this is less expensive than the roland one

Holy tits Batman! That is awesome! Although I feel like that whole thing can be done with just a rack unit, that thing is sick as dick. It shits on that stupid synth Roland came out with.

Ding ding ding! We have a winner, that is exactly what I'm looking for. Still need to do some research to make sure I can plug it into my computer through usb and not have the need for a separate synthesizer. Man, how nuts would that be if you could just plug a microphone into an autotuner and then into that thing? That would mean someone who has never learned music can become a professional musician. Man Technology is nuts.

The Sonuus thing will work on your computer no problem with that!! you can use vsti.

There is a problem with this box, its mono note. You can't play 2 notes at the same time, so you can't play chord. One note at the time is no use for me unfortunately but its look like great for what it does.

You're right. That kinda makes the ghost system a better option. Because it would pick up notes from each individual string. You would most definitely want to put the guitar signal through an autotuner before it reaches the box. I could imagine that it wouldn't pick up the note if it was even there is the slightest bend in the string.
