Audiophile Crap

Anyone into this Apple Spatial stuff? Or Lossless? I don't think I can tell lossless material from AM radio tbh; I think I'm nearly deaf in a large swath of frequencies. The Spatial stuff is mildly interesting to me. I listened to Gojira's new album with it earlier today. I have all the speakers and shit, Atmos and whatnot. Sounds alright. Its making me want to go get some CDs out of the attic and put one on just to see how ye olde two-speakers and a CD player sounds compared to fifty speakers and streaming.

Yeah, I pretty much agree

Edit....wait! I need a sub now. Whenever I turn off the sub I can't stand it. Id be fine if I never had one and wouldn't know any better but now I can't.

Edit....so three speakers.

Edit....I'm drinking a La Croix

OK, so I'm currently testing out "Subdivisions" on CD ("Rush Remasters"), my original Apple Library format (256k) and the new Apple Lossless. I can't tell a FUCKIN difference between the three. For settings, I rotated through stereo, Dolby Surround and Multi-stereo and stereo sounds the best to me. The multistereo sounds too obviously fake but is way more "powerful" and good for when you want to be as loud as possible and the DS actually sounds pretty nice but also fake.

I'll try a few different bands....

I want you to do a taste test of wine next time. $1, $5, $10, $20, and $50 bottles. Ah fuckit keep going to $100 and beyond as well.

no, you can't, and i'm sure there are people who would pay you thousands of dollars if you could in a double blind controlled test
