I've been using one of these on guitars for the latest project I've been working on. Decided to give em a go because I've got some I use for toms and they get alot of love off other live engineer mates of mine. I've been blending them with a 57 and so far I'm liking what I'm hearing. Pretty beefy and they've got a nice midrange.

Any one of you guys or anyone of note use these for guitars?

My biggest issue with the D series microphone for guitar, is a slightly overbearing bite in the upper midrange around 6khz that doesn't sound fantastic on "fluid" sounding sources, like guitars, bass, and synth. I love those microphones on drums (I have 2 i5's, 3 D2's, 4 D4's and 2 D6's), but for guitar, I'm always going back to SM57, SM7, MD421, and some rare condensers I have in my collection.
