I have decided that i want to make our entire discography available to everyone for free. There are tons of people out there can simply cannot afford to buy cds in these tough times. Of course we will still continue to sell hard copies of the cds that are still available to those people who collect cds, or want the hard copies.
I made this decision after the success we had from offering the new Timeline: The Beginning And End Of Everything cd as a free download. The response was overwhelming from people who appreciated the gesture.
We hope our fans enjoy this. We know some of our first few albums are very hard to find and are pretty expensive. There are still people out there that do not feel right stealing or downloading an album illegally so we want to make it easy for them without breaking the law.
The free downloads section will also include a zip file (Covering The Skies) of every cover song we were involved in or recorded. This is Not for sale anywhere, nor will it be ever. Some of the covers sound really bad because they are so old and some sound great. Either way they are fun to listen to and we have had many people asking about them.

Cliff, Uhhh......No
My band has been around for a long time, even longer than COB. I usually start with a pressing of 2000 units and they ALWAYS sell out. This time I pressed 1000 and they are almost gone. I am making them available for free because the old cds are hard to find.
I know bands like COB sell WAAAAAYY more than that but remember I am on no label by choice and i am very underground.
I also dont do shows with skid row members either like the recent clips of COB with sebastian bach.
I very much like COB so that is not a cheap shot. Although I dont care much for anything after 3 first 3 cds I still respect them very much and they are great at what they do.
So once again no. I am giving them away because i am not a greedy bastard.

Most people who take their music seriously would proofread their promotions, it looks like a 14 year old wrote that :lol:

We were on a label twice, and both times it was horrible. For the last two albums I decided to go with no label and have 100% control over what I do.

Unlike COB i dont rely on cd sales and touring to make a living. I own a recording studio so i can afford to give my music away as well as sell it.

There are many bands who choose not to be on a a label. Even some mainstream ones and it is getting more like this every day.

After 15 years you think ONE of us would have heard of you before.

Also its pretty dumb to assume you're doing the world a favor by putting an album out for free. I mean, EVERY album is out there for free, and the availability is based on how much the people want to hear the material.

So I guess having rare and hard to find albums isn't the greatest thing in the world with that perspective in mind :Spin:

You more than likley stole all your COB albums from the bet and every other cd you have for that matter.

I really am not surprised you had not heard of me on this forum. For the past 6 or 7 years COB has been making basically modern pop rock for 15 year old girls. A band that was once superb has really went from great to sub par. Sorry if I don't have enough black fingernail polish or eye liner for you.

I dont want to direct that at all COB fans because I know some of you guys know what i mean from the first 3 records COB made.
 
So let me get this straight: You came here, pretty much straight out insulted an active and (fairly) respected member, admitted you nothing about the forum and you expect us to think you're doing us a favor by making available something that a "true" fan would probably already have? I mean I buy as much of my music as I can, but if for whatever reason I can't get my hands on something that I really like then obviously I'm going to consider less legal ways of getting it, and unless your fans are stupid they'd probably do the same.

tl;dr I think you're an asshole and I'm not gonna download your shit.

I own My two favourite COB albums. I buy music I like, as in, music I have heard and thorougly enjoy. Any asshole who goes and buys your album just because they've "heard its good" is an idiot. If I don't like a product, I return it for my money back, I can't do that with music, so I download it.

Anyway, calling a band sub-par is really calling the kettle black there Mr Aurora.

P.S. There are like 204320 metal bands called something along the lines of Aurora Borealis. Even the NAME of the band is generic.

Cliff, I agree my country sucks and I think it is ass backwards as well, i plan to one day move because I hate the way the USA also, so no insult there.
I have no real issue with people downloading my stuff, so why not make it legal in countries that do not allow it?
How do you know my band is sub par? By the way the musicianship in COB is great I just am not a fan of the music anymore.
There are also 3 bands called aurora borealis 2 of which are long long gone, so wrong again.
 
By the way posting on boards such as this usually cause a ton of responses, Most sort of mainstream metal bands have tons of kids on the boards that like to basically just cause trouble even when a band is trying to do something good.
It is just the nature of forums especially forums like this.
It was posted less than 1 day ago and already had 74 views, what will it be tomorrow. This means love it or hate it more people now know of my band.

I just downloaded your latest album, Ron. It turns out I quite liked it, I'll probably listen to your other albums as well.
Nonetheless, I don't think you handled your arguments in this thread well.
