My favourite is Radical Records, they are a bit more overpriced on new CDs than Metal Mayhem but the selection leans alot more towards AOR, hard rock, melodic metal and sleaze/glam stuff rather than death metal, power metal, thrash, prog, black metal, etc.
And the main reason is because they have an unreal 2nd hand CD section where you can pick up obscure late '80s/early '90s hard rock, glam and AOR albums for about $10-12 each! And lots of rare albums on vinyl for $2-6 as well!
Other than Radical, I shop at Dixons stores (the Blackburn one is the best for any styles of metal and hard rock, on both CD and vinyl, and luckily that one is only 5 minutes from my house!), and eBay of course for stuff I really want and haven't seen around in stores! Or common stuff I have on vinyl but haven't bothered getting on CD, so I buy 5-6 CDs at a time from one buyer in those "One cent CD!" auctions and get them for a couple of bucks each.
