Does anyone know of the following bands?

Abigor
Dornenreich
Korova
Angizia
Amestigon

I've heard lots about Dornenreich, being on Prophecy, but I've yet to hear any. I also hear Korova compared to Arcturus.

Also, out of interest, what are your top 3 Summoning albums? Mine are:

1 - Stronghold
2 - Dol Guldur (although this was my #1 for a while)
3 - Minas Morgul

:Spin:

Dornenreich are cool, pretty original black metal, with really unique vocals. They are really "whispery" if that's even a word. I like them, and I know some people rate them VERY highly.

Cool Austrain band = Estatic Fear.

Excellent. The End have two re-releases in for Dornenreich (and they're supposed to be remastered), but I'm not sure if I want these over the originals which I see pop up on eBay from time to time.

And I like "whispery" screams - it's almost like a prerequisite to get signed by Prophecy.

I have two Abigor albums, Opus IV and Nachthingummy (something about Twilight) ^_^ they're good but don't ever ask me to hum the tunes :p can't remember how a single one of their songs goes!

I don't know if you guys know (I didn't until today) but Abigor quite recently quit. Read the statement on their homepage.

I kind of guessed as much based on what tribalchemy said in this thread...

Abigor stopped, but their side project Heindenreich is good,

So nobody else can make a top 3 Summoning list, huh?

I'm going to review Woodtemple - they are excellent.

You're right, the Woodtemple is good! Epic & dragging tunes of depressive BM, but many good albums on No Colours indeed eheh ...

Sternenstaub, anyone?!

Yes, but no, don't really dig them, at least the first CD was a nice orchestral dark metal with a spacial edge, but way too flat and deprived of paroxysm to nearly equal Demimonde or even Oxiplegatz. Is Moritz "Octopus" Neuner still beating the drums for this band?

Sure I can:
1. Nightshade Forests
might sound weird, this being a four-track with the leftovers of "Dol Guldur", but there's an incredible dim-sunrise-on-faraway-hazy-hills character to the songs, especially "Kortirion among the Trees" is my all-time favourite Summoning song.
2. Dol Guldur
what else?
3. Stronghold
their most guitar-driven work, overall their most solidly composed material, but only third because "The Loud Music of the Sky" is a really weak song and the woman on "Like some Snow..." sings like an ostrich

Golden Dawn - The Art of Dreaming is awesome.

Pazuzu's first two is some fun stuff.

Hollenthon, Pungent Stench, Die Verbannten Kinder Evas, Dargaard...........

1 - Minas Morgul
2 - Stronghold
3 - Nightshade Forests

Uh, I don't know... I think Dornenreich are incredibly silly and pretentious, especially the lyrics. But most of the time I've been alone with this opinion, so...
