Power metal must be breaking through in great strides. Within the past two weeks New Jersey based rock station WDHA 105.5 have played Avantasia's "Another Angel Down" with Jorn Lande and Brainstorm's "Fire Walk With Me" on their Friday Night Metal Mania show. Yeah I know this is not regular day time rotation but it is still a major station heard throughout Jersey and NYC and it is still worlds apart from the usual metal core and usual Slayer and Metallica that is played on that show. It just truly excites me to hear stuff like this played on a radio station that I know thousands of people listen to. Hopefully it will do both bands some good and turn some more people onto them. This guy Scott Evil seems to know good metal when he hears it. I will definitely be paying attention to him over the next few weeks and see what else he plays instead of tuning in to Eddie Trunk. I like Trunk but there is only so much UFO, Black Sabbath, and Van Halen I can hear before I go insane.

....and tonight, Brainstorm will play in Copenhagen, with Pagan's Mind as support band.....gonna be a good night, with Claus, having set his hands on the VIP lounge, and all of us going to throw a small farewell party for him.....

Hmmm...maybe we can get Andy B. Franck to sing "Leaving On A Jetplane" during the set, hehehe.

Claus - beers are on you tonight....

That's cool to hear! I agree with you, I like Eddie Trunk, but he needs to branch out a little to some newer, more current stuff.

Sirius has been playing much more power/prog lately.
In the last two months or so I have heard -Iced Earth,Evergrey,Symphony X,Nevermore,Kamelot, Helloween, and some others that I can't remember at the moment. More Accept as well lately

On which stations? I have XM and Sirius at work, and The Boneyard on XM is about the best station I've heard on either. It seems like Satellite Radio metal is restricted to cock rock or death metal.

Cool to hear something with Jorn Lande on it being played on a US station. My local FM station has played JORN and MASTERPLAN for me several times but it's a pretty small market here.

Most of what I have heard on Sirius has been on 27 with a few on 19 and 23. Nightwish was the other band that I remembered hearing on Sirius. The DJ Mario plays a lot of power metal. Friday nights and Saturday nights.

Damn, every time I glance at this topic title, all I see is "Advantasia" "Brainstorm" "play" "NYC". Tease.
