So I got the new ILLINOIS ENTERTAINER.
I noticed that AVERNUS are playing a show at the end of September on a Sunday night at EXIT.
Didn't some ND members (past/present) serve time in this band?

What do they sound like? I have never heard them.

Serve time......what an appropriate choice of words. I played Bass for Avernus from 1999-2002, there from the MDB school of doom with some Celtic/World influences. You can check them out on MySpace or at avernusbandusa.com.

I didn't know you posted here.
So being in that band was like "serving time" huh? hehehe.
I have seen the name around for years, but never heard them.
If they sound like MDB, then that to me sounds like a good thing.
If I get the chance, I will try to check out that show at the EXIT.

BTW - I was the guy talking to Rob (Twelfth Gate) when you came over to him after your set at JJ Kelleys.

If you dig on them, their sound isn't 100% my thing so I'd part with a comp of their demos for $5.00+shipping and throw in a copy of a recent EP as a bonus to a fellow ND forum user.

Oh and Brian... tell me about it. Me and Rick reached a deal whereby I'd handle making your popcorn. It was a fucking nightmare.

I was not *really* in the band. It was a joke between me and one of their members. I mean dude... popcorn maker isn't a REAL part of any band unless it's GWAR.

My problem right now is there's so much stuff that I have to keep 3/4 of it in storage. So trading sort of defeats the purpose. That said, if you come up with something I'm going to buy anyhow... that's different. For instance the reissue of Darkane's Rusted Angel or certain Moonspell discs will be mine as soon as I'm out of debt.
