Awakenings

Holy shit!

I had listened to it several times but I hadn't managed to understand how great this song is! It has about everything I could ask for, excellent parts and performances from every single member, awesome lyrics, plenty of keyboard work, a long instrumental section as well as mellow, beautiful parts and some slower, more emotional solos. Add that to the usual SymX mix and you have one hell of a song!

I think I can safely say it is my favorite off the new album. Anyone share my opinion?

I havn't had a chance to hear the title track yet, but Awakenings is certainly my favorite song on the album hands down. Not one thing is wrong with it, and it is one of my all time favorite Symphony X songs.

Pinella's solo is a thing of pure beauty...he goes through quite a variety of tones there.

I agree for sure...it just /might/ be the "best" on this album. It's certainly the "best" on the promo.

Odyssey ... can't really judge this one yet.. It has to grow on
me because it's so long to 'learn' so quick. I think
it's gonna be at least 9,5.

woa, its kind of funny that i just stumbled across this, because I was thinking the SAME thing today! It is just such a great song! I do agree that is it the best song to date and this album.
