Axe-FX includes a "borrowed" IR?

Those were made by Wild Hades man... those ENGL IRs made my day :D... plus I'm using some of the Mesa IRs for leads.
But back on topic, indeed, BAD move for Fractal Audio.
 
I'd like to give Cliff the benefit of the doubt.

There are some user-created IRs that come as presets on the Axefx (some of my favorites are made by Clawfinger).

Anyway, my guess is that someone posted the Sperimental IR in a "post your cab impulses" thread, and Cliff included it in the firmware without knowing it was a "copyrighted" IR.
 
Yeah, that's what I was referring to in the recent thread about impulses. And now because of this, Alu (Hades) won't be making more impulses (which I don't him...at all). Very disheartening.

Argh, I get infuriated by this shit.

I HOPE it's a mistake and I would love to find out more about it. If it's not a mistake then it is fucking stealing and it makes me wanna go download a whole plugin pack and go take on some commercial jobs with cracked plugins... just to fuck up for those industry cunts. Seriously I'm mad :|

Wild Hades/Alu: I'll contact Fractal Audio and ask him where he got that IR from. But I have to agree with Ben, that it could very easily have ended up in a "my impulse collection.rar" anywhere.

However, now that he know where that IR comes from, he should acknowledge you and give you credit, that's for sure. It took about six months before he added me into the updated user manual.

For the record, I'm not defending him or anything. I think that if anyone's doing a professional product, and you want cab impulses, you better make them yourself or pay someone to make them for you. IMO. That's the ethical way to do such a thing. That's also the reason I DON'T release my IR's as wav files. Would piss me off too.

They better give Alu credit and money and fix this shit, otherwise you can bet your ass I will download anything FA has made... if it's possible that is.

Now, I'm still trying not to point my finger at FA just yet, but as I said, if it's true... earning money on other's work, that's just cunt behavior of 2009 right there.

I'm 100% behind you Alu, I appreciate the IRs you've made, even if I might not use them (but I should! :D).

Now, I don't know if the cymbals I've recorded are actually good enough to be sold but if I found out someone was making money on my freeware stuff that I've spent my time on, I would get soooo fucking mad.

I'm eagerly waiting for more updates in this thread!
