AXE-FX > strange issue with empty user cab slots

i have user cabs in slot 1 and 2, all other slots are empty!

today i accidentaly switched the cab block to slot 3 and got
very loud and disturbing feedback.

is this normal?

i thought a cab block with an emptxy user cab slot
would just remain silent or at least sound like it's bypassed.

is my axe fucked!?

here's a soundfile of the weird sound, first the normal user cab 2 IR
then the empty user slot 3 with the horrible noise.

the second run is very very loud, turn down the volume!!!

So, would sharing how you solved it benefit any other Axe-FX users?

here's what i've got from the fractal forums:

You've got garbage data in your user slots. No biggie, just load a new cab into the slot.

i did a complete AXE-FX reset, cleared everything, the patches the memory and used the hidden "clear all" function.
it seems like this didn't clear up the user cab slots correctly so there was some invalid garbage data left.
