Eagles' greatest hits (a double album) has to have sold more than Back in Black. Each sale counts as two...
Actually, I think I have heard that Back in Black is one of the biggest selling albums of all time, but I did think the number was a little higher. In the US alone it has sold 19 million copies. Why does it seem like this information is so hard to find?? The Eagles Greatest Hits--is a single album. The top seller in the US is just volume one--not volume 2. Correct me if I am wrong. Billy Joel's Greatest Hits, however, was released as Volume I and II and it has sold 21 million in the US alone. Although, that number may be so high because it is counted as 2 CD's???

Did you know the best-selling death metal band--overall sales is Cannibal Corpse?

Further research

That list Gas posted shows how great the Eagles were at song writing. I have that album and I have Back in Black on vinyl. Now who bought all those Boston albums. I think I'm going to puke.

i thought morbid angel were tha biggest selling death metal band. at least i think they were the first to have combines sales of 1 million.

mariah carey's "music box" is missing from that list it seems. 22 million sold i think... also where is metallica's black album in that list? (not that i care)

Charlie likes Boston.
Guess I'm busted.
Boston started to wear on me because of the amount of airplay they get. We get classics all day long in LA. We get a lot of Zeppelin too but I like them just not all the time.
