background noise

i got this little mixer thing. and when i plug it in my pc i hear this kinda humm something ( listen mp3, when nothing is played you can hear it )

someone have a idea to remove it ?

Don't use RCA cables, that should get rid of any hum.

ok !!! but if you use 1/4 cables, would it sound the same ?

I think I know what Mendel is talking about. I get the same thing on my rig, except there's no mixer in the chain. It's just a straight 1/8' to dual 1/4' into my monitors and I get this fairly loud fuckin hum. Haven't been able to isolate the source of the problem.

Question. What are you using this mixer for exactly? Judging by the photos I think you can eliminate this behemoth.

This was a pod or a behringer direct I assume? Taking the mono output of whatever device into strip 1 and then routing the RCA to your soundcard?

I'd suggest eliminating this mixer entirely. The noise itself almost sounds like a really low level feedback loop or possibly some weird internal DSP routing within that thing.

Since you are coming in mono, there is no point to come out stereo. As far as I can see, there is absolutely no reason to even use that thing.

I hope you dont mean on the mains plug?

Ground lifts on signal cables are fine but on mains cables can be fatal
