I know about tineye.com, but I was wondering if there was anything a bit more intensive?

My band found a picture that is more or less exactly what we're looking for in an album cover; unfortunately, it was on a Tumblr page and we can't trace it back to it's source. Because Tumblr renames the pictures that are hosted on it's site, we can't use tineye to trace it, either. Googling/searching flickr for keywords from the picture brings up nothing, as well

Is there any kind of service that will take/analyze the photo and go find shit like it? Desperate at this point

Have you tried these?

http://www.gazopa.com/

IIRC Gazopa was pretty much all over the place though :D

Just did, gets things of the same hue and color and some have trees but I'm not picking up the same image.

For what it's worth, this is the picture:

If anyone is randomly a tumblr whore and recognizes it... hit me up!

What are you actually trying to do Jeff? Find the original owner of the photo and license it off them? You could always get someone to shoot a similar shot specifically for you if you don't have any luck..

Trying to see if we can find the original photographer to commission a picture in that exact spot with the people in slightly different positions (and a couple without the couple at all). The two benches with the tree in the center is perfect for what we're going for, and there's no place at around us that has that same thing going on, let alone with a lake in front! Also running into the issue of us being spread about in different towns and only getting together 4-5 months total throughout the year. :(

Hmmm... I could go for a wander around the lake here tomorrow if I get the chance (or soon) to see if there's anything like that (I'd be surprised if there wasn't at least something very similar) here as a bit of a contingency plan if you want?
Don't feel obliged or anything... I'll probably do it anyway just as an excuse to head out into the sun.... and I actually am a photographer so I'm not going to just go and snap a blurry iPhone shot or anything!

If you could find something similar to that, would be quite cool! What we're really looking for is two benches separated by a tree like that, and ideally would have a guy on the right bench looking over at a girl on the left bench, who is looking straight ahead. If we really can't pan things out with this guy and nothing else pops up I'll probably be posting a thread trying to commission a photographer to round up two friends and do exactly what we've got in our heads.

How much are you looking to pay for said photo? I could probably find a location similar to this and get 2 people to do it. Does there have to be a lake in the background?

Brian, I've actually had you in mind for this but have always just assumed you'd be out of our budget, which is nearly nonexistent but could be stretched for the right image.

Doesn't have to be a lake in the background, though. Care to shoot me a PM with a rough quote? I may be completely over-quoting this in my head, but we'll see!

There is something called EXIF data that might help. I have never actually used it and know nothing about it, but it is supposed to give accurate information about the camera type and things along with the location(possibly). Like I said I don't know much about it, but it might be worth looking into

Unfortunately, most of the time that stuff disappears when you upload it to sites that resize and compress the picture in question.

The person who posted originally (yeah, I went through the reposts) it isn't the photographer, and she can't remember where she found it - just saw it on someones tumblr without a repost button, so she saved it/re-uploaded it.

In contact with Brian now though, thinking that'll turn out even better, anyways.
