Everything has a price and everything can be bought and sold... for the right price I think. Opeth wouldn't be especially expensive for us here in this forum. I live in a flat so I guess my living room and the balcony couldn't do for a venue. I would go anywhere in Europe or, to be fair, I would take the island-in-the-middle-of-the-ocean option (although the way to go there could be more expensive for all of us...). Well, Riskit, have you bought some lottery today? You should just in case...

i havent got a clue what bands like opeth would cost. Mikael? just out of interest, how much do you ask for for a show?

400 people times 20 / ticket = 8000 + flights for eight people + return = 2400 ... Do you think they would ask for much more than 10000 to play a reasonably good set-list

ummm.. it wont be that much. iron maiden would ask for that.
the ticket sales will go to the venue to pay for the band... you need to take off the 2400 from the 8000 to get the venues profits, and the band fee would be a certain percentage of that (there will be money left over for the venue to make profit).

Yes, mine was a complete guess, but, I mean, it must be somehow accurate, since both times I saw Opeth in Berlin I can't even think they sold 400 tickets... But yes, you're right, the venue gets some money off that, and we would have it in our backyards... 8000 and Opeth would make it? No idea. Does the record company get profits from that amount?

i dunno how it all works really. there are a few shitty local bands that ask for a couple of hundred each when we hold a christmas party, im guessing someone like maiden would ask for £10,000-£20,000 or so, but no idea for opeth.

Yes, I will buy everybody's plane tickets. But you will have to prove UM membership registered prior to my offer above. You guys will like San Diego. Before the band arrives we will all take limos to Tijuana and get drunk and look at strippers. Then back to my house for the show (strippers will be there also, providing you all with drinks and food).
I'll let the band pick the songs, but they must perform a double set.

We could improvise a tribute band to play some more Opeth songs: Mr Niel and Moonlapse could do some guitars. I wouldn't mind if I did some growls. I'm sure some other people did the bass and the drums... It would kick some major ass.

Good call Demoke. I'm still floored with Mr.Niels Demon of Fizzall cover he posted... That must have taken hours of work. He should really make a Opeth cover tribute album and sell it! His pinched harmonics at the beginning were great. (Niel I'm serious if your reading this)...
