BALANCE OF POWER

He said that Lionel lives in a flat in England and can't set up a full kit due to the noise it would create - thus the computer driven drums.

I completely understand not being able to practice, but Dan Swano's drum tones on all his early death metal stuff sounded REAL at least. not that i am bitching really, since "Ten Tales..." is one of the only power AOR albums i can listen to with programmed drums. With technology as advanced as it is i personally cannot settle for crappy drum tones in most cases. BOP is not one of them, plus that album is older now which is why i used the Swano reference because he was only other person i can recall right now using drum machine tones for albums, but i am sure there are more. hahaha.

I remember them leading off at PP II back in 2001 and being like 'Who the heck are these guys?... and who is this guy singing??!'

:D:D:D

Been a fan ever since and that was my intro to Lance's amazing vocals

They're a good band IMO... for me, Perfect Balance is still one of the best melodic metal releases of the last decade. Their performance at ProgPower II was killer too.

Wow, talk about bring up an old thread. But VERY odd timing that this thread was brought back up on today of all days.

This is a topic that is mentioned about every other month between Corey and myself: What is going on with BOP?

The answer I get is always the same: A shrug of the shoulders followed by "I don't know man" from Corey. I'm afraid that I have no news to offer and this is from Corey himself.

I for one am still hoping that something will come out of this pairing of BOP and Corey.

The ironic part of this resurfacing of this thread is that Section 16 will be making an big announcement (big for us anyway) soon here within the next week or so (for those who are interested).

Thanks,

Since everyone was asking about BoP, I thought I'd forward the questions on to them and see what they were up to. :D

I spoke with Tony, and he basically told me that the new album is done, and just needs to be recorded. The band members are currently engaged in some personal obligations, but they are just needing to get the scheduling done so that recording can begin. They are very excited about the new material, and are looking forward to getting it completed.

Hope that answers a few questions for y'all! I know I'm looking forward to it! :headbang:

In other words, they'll get it done, when they get it done.
