Band #6 is confirmed.

Crosspost from PMX2:

I'm probably one of the few people (well, of the Americans, anyway) who's already seen Thunderstone live, and I'm telling you all, this is going to be the band that everyone comes home RAVING about how awesome they were, like Stride was last year. (yeah, yeah, there's always a handful of naysayers, but nobody pays attention to 'em anyway.)

I saw them open for Symphony X and Stratovarius about three years ago, not long after their first album had been released. I had no idea who they were; I was just there for the other two bands, and they kicked my ass all over the place. They're also incredibly nice people - if you've ever spent any time with the Evergrey guys, they're on that level of sociability and friendliness (and drunken antics).

You WILL enjoy their show. You can kick my ass afterwards if you don't. (Ben is exempted, because he doesn't like anything anyway.)

I have their first album which is fantastic; not crazy about the second one and have yet to fully digest the third. The festival is shaping up very nicely thus far. 5 out of 6 thus far for me (not a bad ratio). Now just throw in Labyrinth or Vision Divine and I'm set!!! Cheap plug every time I post, I know...

I rank their cds in this order:

1. Thunderstone
2. Tools of Destruction
3. The Burning

Now, Glenn, let me tell you how I rank these (not including hits and lives):

Pretty Maids
1. Sin Decade
2. Spooked
3. Future World
4. Lethal Heroes
5. Planet Panic
6. Carpe Diem
7. Red, Hot, and Heavy
8. Anything Worth Doing is Worth Overdoing
9. Scream
10. s/t

***Note*** This is a preemptive post to be referred to upon the "official" announcement of the Pretty Maids for this year's ProgPower

***CAUTION--I'm about to drop the F-bomb***

FUCK YEAH!!!!!
...AND me & my crew are the co-sponsors!!

This totally makes up for a shitty day...now I'm going to go change my pants...

:Smokin:

This year's Prog Power seems to be a big "fan request" fest. Pyramaze has been spoken for by many people, and while it might not seem like it in this thread I can remember quite a few Thunderstone requests over the past three years. Epica is another band that alot of forum goers have been talking about recently and you cant get more Prog than Freak Kitchen.

This is going to be a very good year.
