NVD, as I was wearing one of my prized Redemption shirts at my son's last Boy Scout backpacking campout, one of the other dads asked me about Redemption. I played a couple of songs for him on my iPod and he immediately starting asking more questions as his interest grew :Spin:. One was... where the band name came from.
I thought that was an interesting question.

I can only assume that there is some deeper meaning for you. I'm hoping you'd share.

Thanks!

Fortunately, Shawshank was already taken. You can catch them on tour with Dream Theatre playing their hit songs: Forgotten, Floors, and East And Up World.

That is a tour waiting to happen... Shawshank and Redemption. It totally publicises itself.

Confirming Shawshank Redemption as the inspiration.

I also like the positivity of the name. I always liked bands like Rush and Triumph because of the positivity of those names. So Redemption is another active, positive thing.
